Pollution on a small scale still contributes to the overall damage we inflict on our environment, it’s just not as obvious as that seen or inhaled on a larger scale.
This folio of diffused images reveals delicate and serene flora. Some of the images reveal discarded items, hiding, camouflaged, overlooked and contaminating micro environments. Bits of plastic, twine, artificial tape, fabric , cigarettes and so much more can be found in gutters and washed into the drainage system and out to the sea, in parks, entwined in bushes and trees, in our precious bushland and areas reserved for protected species or wildlife.
When did we stop looking or caring?
I am attracted to the use of light and translucence combined with textures and soft focus. I chose refined colours and tones together to support my imagery.
